It’s All in the Details

The iconic Gabriel-Glas silhouette—that slightly conical, gently curved bowl—was inspired by the form of an unfurling rose. The shape, size, and proportions of the bowl act as an extension of the nose itself and they work in concert with the concave sides to offer unbelievable wine enjoyment.

Laser Cut Rim

The rim is cut by laser and polished by a diamond wheel to give the impossibly-thin-rim higher resistance against impact, breakage, and more than a 50% increase in resistance to chipping—the most common failure of a typical fine stem. And, more importantly, it makes the glass undeniably more luxurious from which to drink.

I already own the hand blown (HB) version of this glass and purchased 3 of the machine blown (MB) for more of an “everyday” use - I work in a wine shop and am tasting wine quite frequently. I am disappointed in the difference between the two glasses. The MB glass does not deliver the same aromatic experience and the weight and feel of the glasses are dramatically different. While I anticipated the feel/weight of the glass would differ, I did not expect the aromatics to be so dramatically different between the two. In addition, one of the MB glasses has already broken. I’ve been drinking out of the HB glass for years with no issues. Overall I’m disappointed and wish I had purchased one of the hand blown vs. three of the machine. The HB glass however is the best glass I’ve ever used. It’s great with all types of wine varietals, and really does improve the overall experience. If you are looking for a more “technical” experience with your wine glass, my advice is to skip the MB and save up for the hand blown.

Elegant and built to last!

These beauties are elegant, with a thin, smooth glass that feels just right for tasting. But here’s the real kicker: despite my best efforts to break everything (especially while cleaning), these things have held up for over a year without a crack. If I could break them, trust me, I would’ve by now!
